In China do you still use cent currency?

I am going to China this summer. In China do you still use
1 fen? (1/100 of yuan)

I have many old 1, 2, and 5 fen coins. Will stores or flea markets still accept them. Do people in china throw it in the trash??

we still use “fen”.
but not use it very often, we just collect them, then change for big money from the banks. like” yuan” or ” jiao “
